After the day brightened, De Yi Hall finally opened. Many sick patients came for no reason, and began waiting outside from a very early time. Yang Lianting had to go and begin seeing his patients, but he hadn't arrived yet, when suddenly a voice asked, "Begging to ask you, is doctor Yang Lianting here?"
Yang Lianting quickly walked out, taking large steps, and only saw that there was a man dressed in gray outside, who, upon seeing him come out, cupped his hands, saying, "This one must be godly doctor Yang?"
Yang Lianting said, "Your praise is too high, you are....."
The young man took a green invitation out from his breast, saying, "This one was ordered by the holy maiden, to especially send godly doctor Yang the invitation to the medical conference. The holy maiden had stressed three times, that godly doctor Yang must grace us with his attendance."
Yang Lianting quickly received the invitation, saying, "Many thanks. This one, towards Bai Yu sect's medical prowess has long heard and admired, so the great conference for medicine, I will definitely go to."
At this, the young man finally relaxed, and said that he would await his arrival, and turned to leave.
Yang Lianting put away the invitation for safekeeping, and seeing that the patients outside were great in number, no longer bothered with minding Leng Feiyan and Zuo Canglang, but began to see to his patients.
But how could Leng Feiyan and Zuo Canglang be particularly restrained? As the workers were all busy, they stealthily left the medical hall, since it wasn't like any others would enter anyways.
Leng Feiyan filled Zuo Canglang's wine again, saying, "Swallow's Nest has already raised Cang Jian sect's attention, and Cang Tian has contacted me once already."
Zuo Canglang's facial expression was grave, "Cang Jian sect having their reputation within the martial arts world, can't possibly be overstated. Last time our slaying of Cang Feng was purely luck, so you must be careful."
Leng Feiyan stretched her shoulders, "Of course I won't mind them, but what do you say, will they suspect Swallow's Nest for having any relations with lord master?"
Zuo Canglang shook her head, "Even if he suspects something, it will be useless; since they cannot find Cang Feng's corpse, and there is no proof, their suspicions will only ever remain suspicion."
Leng Feiyan stretched lazily, "I'm gonna leave first, and we don't know when is the next time that we will meet, so take care of yourself."
Zuo Canglang "mmm"'d, and Leng Feiyan jumped onto the roof, and secretly exited Deyi hall.
In Jinyang city, by Tianping street, the eastern sun slowly rose. Leng Feiyan advanced forward, and was just about to exit the street, when suddenly a light voice called out behind her, "Miss Yan? How come you're here?"
Leng Feiyan was startled, and turned her head, seeing Cang Ge. He wore a pure white robe, draped in a black cloak, clean and refreshing. Leng Feiyan lowered her eyes, immediately turning into the soft and water-like image of a lady. "Sir Cang. I......" she turned back to take a look at Tianping street's Deyi Hall, saying, "Last time, at Jin Ji old road, I received doctor Yang's salvation. These two days, I learned that he had returned to Jinyang, so this little lady personally came to give him thanks."
Cang Ge nodded, saying, "It's rare that miss Yan also values righteousness and connection. Currently, the warfare in Daji city has ceased, and the plague has also been controlled, so is miss going to go there and search for her relative?"
Leng Feiyan couldn't but say, "Indeed. Now that I have thanked doctor Yang, this little lady is going to head towards Daji city."
Cang Ge said, "This trip to Daji city is a long road, and miss is all by herself, so it may be inconvenient in a lot of matters. Since I coincidentally also need to take another trip to Jin Ji old road, why not send miss over?"
Leng Feiyan of course could not even wish for a better arrangement, so she immediately agreed, saying, "Then, I'll count on sir."
Cang Ge arrived at Jin Ji old road, and still unwittingly searched for the whereabouts of Cang Feng. Cang Feng had gone missing for a long time, and Cang Jian sect had also started to feel that he may have encountered some mishap. Within the martial arts sect, it was rumored, Cang Feng had perished at the hands of an organization called Tibetan Pavilion's head. But where was Tibetan Pavilion, and why did they make a move against Cang Feng? Who were the important figures, and where did they operate? Cang Jian sect was absolutely clueless.
Cang Jian sect sent out many men to search for news, but they all returned without anything.
Cang Ge had, at the time, made an appointment to meet with Cang Feng at the Jin Ji old road's small inn, and thinking all over the matter, he still felt that his older brother must have arrived at Jin Ji old road. So he had thought about it and decided to once again return to search for a bit.
But how would Leng Feiyan really want to go to Daji city. Currently, Swallow's Nest's matters were many, and would she find it fun to just travel here and there? It was only that Cang Ge had such a scholarly air, that it really fit her appetite, so she accompanied him to play around for a bit.
The two journeyed together, and Leng Feiyan rode the carriage as usual, while Cang Ge served as the coachman. Even though he was willing, but within his beautiful eyes there was still a dark source of worry. On the whole trip, they didn't actually talk much.
Leng Feiyan just felt that this guy was really interesting, as for so long his brother could not be found, but he still had the intention to bother with the matters of strangers. The whole trip, Cang Ge neither narrowed his eyes at her, and in his motions and way of speaking, everything expressed respect and etiquette.
Even when they arrived at Jin Ji old road, when he had arrived at the forest where Cang Feng had disappeared to investigate. This place was Pan Long valley's only crossing. They continued forwards, and searching very detailedly was not an easy matter. Cang Ge said, "Miss Yan, this one has another matter, and will probably need to stay here for many more days. I will have Cang Jian sect's people escort miss to Daji city, and will definitely help miss find her relatives."
Leng Feiyan said, "Is Sir Cang looking for something?"
But Cang Ge didn't say more. The matter of Cang Feng going missing, Cang Jian sect didn't reveal to the outside world. Leng Feiyan said, "All these past days, I have received sir's are. If sir does not find it annoying, just let me enter the forest with sir to help in the search."
Cang Ge frowned, saying, "The forest probably has many snakes, mice, bugs, and ants. It's better if miss......"
Before he finished speaking, Leng Feiyan said, "I was just thinking, last time I met sir in Jin Ji old road, and sir must have been looking for someone or something. If you hadn't discovered it then, and search for it now, then probably it would be difficult to find some evidence. But with an extra person, who used another pair of eyes to search, then perhaps there could be some result to the search."
Cang Ge thought for a bit, and felt that it was reasonable, and said, "Let's go."
Leng Feiyan followed behind him, the two of them entered the forest together. It was currently deep autumn, and the fallen leaves had formed layer upon layer, so Cang Ge said, "I am searching for a person, and he had made an appointment to meet with me a the old road's inn, but currently, it has already been seven months, and if he is alive, I haven't seen him, and if he is dead, he is also missing."
When he was saying these words, the worry that was in his gaze was finally entirely exposed, like a cloud that had covered the moon. Leng Feiyan said, "Is it sir's relative?"
Cang Ge mmm'd, and the two of them and the two of them started searching within the tall grass and among the fallen branches. But the wilderness was large as the eye could see, and by they were at the center of the old road, and it had already been seven months. If they wanted to find even a little bit of evidence, how difficult would it be?
The sky slowly darkened, and by the time Cang Ge realized this, the surrounding had all descended into darkness. They were already separated pretty far from the old road.
Seeing Leng Feiyan who was following him into the wilderness, he couldn't but feel a small debt of gratitude, "Miss Yan, the sky is already dark, so tonight we can probably only rest within the forest."
Leng Feiyan brushed her clothes, saying, "I'll go start a fire." She had actually brought flints, and currently she found some dried leaves, and surrounded them with some dried twigs, and the light from the fire illuminated the forest, further increasing its silence.
Cang Ge took from his traveling bundle some dried rations, and passed it to Leng Feiyan.
Leng Feiyan didn't catch it-- as her two hands, when she was gathering the wood, was covered in dirt. She stood up, asking, "Is there a place to wash your hands around here?"
Cang Ge hurriedly stood up, saying, "There is, this place is close to a creek; miss follow me."
Leng Feiyan actually knew the way, but as usual, obediently followed him, their journey took some time, finally arriving by a river. The creek that crossed the woods had rushing water, and Leng Feiyan lightly bent her waist over, to wash her hands. Cang Ge just stood not far from her, as though afraid she would fall in the water, and was afraid to walk far.
Leng Feiyan used her hands to cup water, and actually the water was a bit frigid, but to her, it wasn't anything-- in the orphan camp, during the four seasons, who would have used hot water to bathe?
She washed her hands, and used a wet silk handkerchief to wipe her face; Cang Ge, seeing the situation, quickly turned his face away. He was after all young, and although normally, the matter of the birds and the bees he wasn't lacking in knowledge of, but he had never been so close to any particular girl. Not to mention that Leng Feiyan's face, and her occasional glance, would show that here eyes were like winter streams, and it was impossible for his heart really to not flutter at all.
Leng Feiyan saw that he wasn't looking over here at her, so she tested the soft soil by the river's edge with her foot, yelping out a little "Ah!" and falling directly into the river. Cang Ge was startled, and immediately rushed over, but was still a little bit late, and only managed to grasp a torn off corner of her dress.
Seeing that she was splashing in the water, Cang Ge didn't have a moment of hesitation, but immediately jumped into the water, half embracing and half hugging her, dragging her onto the shore.
Leng Feiyan was drenched, as though she was hugging the last floating plank in the water, she tightly hugged Cang Ge. Cang Ge lightly said, "Miss Yan? Don't fret, don't fret." He comforted Leng Feiyan on one hand, but on the other hand, he carried her over beside the fire.
Both people were dripping water from head to toe, and the nightly breeze blew by, and even Cang Ge couldn't help but shiver a bit. He wanted to put Leng Feiyan on the ground, but Leng Feiyan hugged his neck tightly, "Sir Cang! Sir Cang!"
Cang Ge couldn't help it, but could only lightly dry her hair, saying, "Don't be afraid, as I will prop up two branches, and we can dry our clothes. I won't leave."
Leng Feiyan slowly relaxed her hold, and at that time, her soft and supple face was covered in watery mist, her skin more translucent than jade. Her eyes reflected the flame light, and inside, was stretched that soft and supple flesh that was more expensive than gems. Cang Ge could only feel his heart beat speed up, the wet clothes sticking to his body, but his heart felt like a burning flame.
He quickly found a tree branch, and quickly set up a rack beside the flame, and then he took off his outer robe, hanging it on the rack, coincidentally blocking Leng Feiyan, like a room partition.
He only wore a white inner shirt, and looking at Leng Feiyan, said, "Miss Yan, if you wear the wet clothes like this until morning, I'm only afraid you will catch a cold."
Leng Feiyan said, "But......but....." in this deep and isolated forest, a sole male and a sole female...... the words she wanted to say, Cang Ge of course understood. He motioned for the rack with the wet clothes' other side, saying, "Miss Yun, no need to worry, as this man Cang....... definitely won't have any immoral actions."
Leng Feiyan thought, what the mother------, why is this man so rigidly stubborn, he's such a block of wood from such a young age! This old one has practically done everything up to this step, and you're still over there pretending to be some serious person. But, she's got to play the part, so with a voice that was still very embarrassed and soft, said, "That side happens to be where the wind is coming from, and sir's clothes are still wet...... why not...... why not sir come over here to sit."
But Cang Ge said instead, "This one is a martial arts practitioner, and although I'm soaked, it is not anything. Miss does not need to worry."
Leng Feiyan could only admit defeat to this guy; there's no other way, but she removed her clothes to cook against the fire. And then she used a slanted log as her pillow, shutting her eyes to pretend sleeping. The flame rested by her ear, slowly burning, and occasionally she would open her eyes, and only see behind the clothes that were being brushed by the wind, in the darkness, there was that man's shadow.
Underneath the old tree in the middle of an isolated forest, in the eleventh month of the year, he just happened to sit there, enduring the whole night.
TN: I have to admit. I find Leng Feiyan's antics hilariously cheesy.
She is so naughty
ReplyDeleteSHE IS SO DISGUSTING, poor Cang Ge! don't die.. please..
ReplyDeleteI wouldn’t say disgusting. Because I get her she was a child that had to go by the saying “survival of the fittest” since young her growing up was all gore whom will be the last man standing. She is shameless little thing who wasn’t taught any etiquette. Serve's a master who just lets her do things according to his boundaries.
